I have the honour to forward herewith a

copy of a letter, and enclosure, from the Commandant,

Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, requesting that

sanction may be given for an alliance between the Royal

Army Pay Corps and the Pay Section of the Hong Kong

Volunteer Defence Corps.

2. I fully endorse the views expressed in

the fourth paragraph of the Commandant's letter and

I shall be glad if you will be so good as to forward

this application to the War Office with a recommendation

for its favourable consideration.
